Feast of the Sacrifice
Feast of the Sacrifice is an important religious holiday that is celebrated by all Muslims. It’s history goes all way back to  Prophet Abraham.
Abraham and his wife were sad because of having no children so he prayed to God in order to have a child and  swore that he will devote his first born child to God as a sacrifice. Years later his prays were answered by God. As the child growing, Abraham were having dreams, as a consequence of his vow to God, about himself killing his own child Ishmael. Seeing that dreams of a prophet are different from any other people’s dreams, he took that as a command. As a result of having dreams like that, he mentioned that to his child. As an act of submission to God's command Ishmael agreed to being sacrificed and said his father to do what he was commanded. In spite of the fact that Abraham was ready to sacrifice his son, as an intervention, God sent his arch angel Gabriel with a lamb to kill instead. So he sacrificed the lamb.

This event brings us to present day. Feast of the Sacrifice is a religiousand public holiday in Muslim countries. Every year people pray and sacrifice lambs, goats or calfs for God’s sake and to get closer with him. In these times people who get offended to each other make peace. Connection of family gets stronger. Younger family members visit the old ones. People who have a better economic condition help to others. All family get together and have a good time.
